New Cane

I bought a new cane last week! Not a purchase I was planning on making but I happened to be passing a medical supply store and thought I’d pop in to see if they had collapsible canes. A couple of years ago a friend showed me their collapsible cane and I thought the design was brilliant, but I already had a cane so didn’t rush off to buy a new one. But I’ve been using my cane a bit more frequently in the last few months than I was a few years ago so I figured, why not at least check?

What do I like about the new cane? There are a few features of the new cane that I’m pretty jazzed about. Number one being the cane tip that allows the cane to stand on its own. No more struggling to find a place to set the cane while I wash my hands in the bathroom or hanging it over my arm while I rummage through pockets or a bag looking for something. The handle has a better grip that just feels better and more secure to hold in my hand. Finally, it is collapsible. Which means it's a lot easier to carry with me for those “just in case” times and I don’t need to manage carrying a full cane with me that I might not even end up needing because I can just put it in my bag.
