MRI Saga Continues
Thank you all for your patience and my lack of posts while I had to deal with some family stuff back on the East Coast. I will be writing about that experience but I need a bit of time to process because it was a lot.
Right before I left for the East Coast I got a letter from my insurance company saying that the request for my MRIs had been denied. Since I was getting ready for my trip and I wasn’t sure of my return date I decided that it made more sense to deal with that when I got back. During my time out there I got a voicemail from the MS Clinic saying that they had taken care of the paperwork with my insurance company and that I was good to go to schedule the MRIs.
Today I tried to schedule those MRIs with the designated clinic down here in Vancouver but apparently the paperwork isn’t filled out right and the UW MS Clinic has to refax the forms filled out correctly. I told the person I was speaking with on the phone about the back and forth that I had already done with this and they said they were sorry but they needed the MS Clinic to fax the forms again. I made the statement “wow, our healthcare system is so broken” and the person I was speaking with agreed wholeheartedly.
I’ve never experienced this kind of trouble just getting an MRI scheduled before. I became used to the back and forth about the medication I would have to go through every few months when I used CVS Specialty pharmacy back in Maryland. I had less trouble with that once I switched to the Johns Hopkins Specialty pharmacy. There was a bit of extra leg work on my part when I was setting things up with the specialty pharmacy out here in Washington but things with my tecfidera prescription have, thankfully, gone pretty smoothly since then. I can’t say the same about my adderall prescription but that’s another story.
